Stylish Halloween Wedding Centerpieces

Halloween can be a fun time of year for a wedding. For many couples, the challenge comes in trying to create a design that both embraces the spirit of Halloween and is elegant enough for a wedding. Look no further! These are some fantastic ideas for stylish Halloween wedding centerpieces.

Pumpkins are always a popular part of Halloween decor. A chic way to use them in a wedding centerpiece is to stack mini pumpkins inside a tall rustic lantern. Use smaller versions of the same lantern around the central one, and fill them with pillar candles. It is both seasonal and elegant. A cute idea is to hollow out a small pumpkin and use it to hold a short pillar candle. Scatter a couple of these around the lanterns for a charming accent. This is a great centerpiece design for a fall wedding with a rustic flavor, the kind where the guests wear soft sweaters and handmade wedding jewelry instead of satin gowns.

Black flowers are another great theme for Halloween centerpieces. Black wrought iron candelabras can be the base of this tablescape. Fill them will deep red taper candles to create a romantic ambiance. There are some interesting options for the black flowers. Noir velvet blossoms with frayed edges would be elegant and a great alternative to fresh cut flowers. Place them around the base of the candelabras for a beautiful effect. There is something sort of Victorian Gothic about the mood created by this centerpiece design, and you can enhance that with your wedding attire. Jet crystal wedding jewelry will be slightly reminiscent of Victorian mourning jewelry, which is perfect for a romantic yet spooky Halloween reception.

Stylish Halloween Wedding Centerpieces

Another creative idea is to make a display using glittered pumpkins. For this easy DIY wedding project, you can use faux pumpkins from a craft store instead of real ones. Paint them black, then brush glue over the surface once the paint has dried. Cover them with black and silver glitter for a stylish take on the typical fall pumpkin. You can create a very elegant display by arranging the glittery pumpkins on a tiered cake stand. Place a large one on top, and use smaller ones on the lower tiers. For a pop of color, burgundy roses can be tucked in among the pumpkins.

Create the look of faded glamor for your Halloween reception using tarnished silver vases or urns spray painted black. Look for elaborate vessels with an antique feeling. Then fill the vases with rich red flowers like dahlias, roses, and burgundy-black dahlias, orchids, and calla lilies. Add sprays of black feathers to the floral arrangements for drama. This would be a gorgeous centerpiece for a formal Halloween wedding, as it is more glamorous than spooky.

The great thing about a Halloween wedding is that you can get really creative. Use your imagination to design centerpieces that are the perfect blend of spooky and stylish. Your guests are sure to enjoy the personal touches you put into planning the perfect Halloween wedding reception.

Four Scary Halloween Decorations for Your Porch

Halloween has become a huge holiday. When I was a kid, it was all about homemade costumes and one night of trick-or-treating.

Today, Halloween is a full-fledged season for some families. Soon as September rolls around, people begin to plan for the holiday. Or should I say season?

\"Halloween Decor \"

We have four eerieHalloween decoration ideas for your porch here.

Four Scary Halloween Decorations for Your Porch

  1. Create a bat haven on your porch. From stiffened black felt, cut out many black bats. Try various sizes. Use a template you get online. Then using masking tape or duct tape on the back, tape the bats to the walls of your porch. Tape some to your windows and porch railings, too. Some of the bats could hang down from the ceiling using black thread. You will have an eerie porch that will be noticed for sure!
  2. Create a spider covered porch. Scary Halloween decorations are as easy as finding some super-sized spiders at your craft store or home improvement store. The bigger the better. You might even be able to find glow-in-the-dark spiders. Ewwww! While you're at it, pick up a package or two of that fake spider web material. Stretch it in the corners of your porch to create bigger-than-life spider webs. Hang the spiders from the ceiling, the porch columns, and the walls - anywhere you want many-legged creatures.
  3. Rent a fog machine and play some creepy music. Who knows what lurks in the fog? Perhaps nothing but your trick-or-treaters will not know for sure. Playing eerie music combined with the rolling fog will create an aura of suspense and mystery.
  4. Make a crypt look like it has been opened and strategically place a Mummy on your porch, making it look like he has risen from the dead! How about hanging a couple skeletons freely from the ceiling and clothe them in a black jacket and hat? That will scare the munchkins some! Of course, play some of that eerie creepy music and imaginations will go like crazy. Include some jack-o-lanterns around the porch with electric lights.

Your porch, whether large or small, can be a very fun place to decorate for the munchkins that come knocking at your door for treats. Or is it tricks that you generously give? No matter how scary your porch is, be nice to the kids who come by! Use your imagination to create something special that they will remember for a long time.

Make Halloween Outdoor Decorations: "Ring of Ghosts" and "Flagpole Spooks"

Here's a favorite tradition of our family in outdoor Halloween decor:

RING OF GHOSTS

\"Halloween Decor \"

Materials: 3 Twin-sized Sheets 3 Four foot lengths of flexible 1/2 inch PVC Piping, Wooden Stakes or Dowels 3 Small White Plastic Garbage Bags Masking Tape Newspaper String or Twist Ties Black Marker (optional)

Make Halloween Outdoor Decorations: "Ring of Ghosts" and "Flagpole Spooks"

Instructions: 1. First, determine a good location for your ghost gathering. Find a wide open area, or you may decide to group them around a tree or light pole.

2. To make the ghosts' heads, crumple up newspaper and stuff the three small plastic trash bags to the desired size.

3. Stick one of the PVC pipes into one of the bags and wrap the neck with masking tape to secure. Repeat for the other ghosts.

5. Cover each ghost head with a sheet, gathering with string or a twist tie under each head. The head should be in the middle of the sheet, so the outer edges can be attached to the neighboring ghosts.

You can make taller or shorter ghosts, but you must adjust the size of sheet you use to accommodate. Our ghosts will be just under 4 feet tall.

4. Push the PVC piping into the ground in a circular formation about 1-2 feet apart. The sheets should touch the ground and cover up the support. You can also use wooden stakes or dowels, but your ghosts won't have as much movement as they will with the PVC piping.

6. Finally, knot the ends of the sheets together to give the impression the ghosts are holding hands. Because the PVC is flexible, your ghosts will now bob and sway in the wind!

7. If desired, make Casper-like faces on the sheets with black marker.

We have 3 children, so we always make 3 ghosts, but you can connect as many ghosts as you wish!

They'll look like they're playing a spooky game of "ring-around-the-rosy"!

FLAGPOLE SPOOKS

These spooky decorations are easy if you have an angled flagpole attached to the front of your house.

Scary Flagpole Ghost: Hang a "Scream" style mask off the end of the flagpole. Tie a white sheet or a generous length of white tulle around and behind the mask. This scary creature will appear to be flying as his white garment flutters in the wind.

Flagpole Frankenstein: Hang a Frankenstein mask off the end of the flagpole. Tie a dark colored trash bag tied behind it. Shredding the trash bag around the edges will add to the spooky effect.

Flagpole Witch: Hang a witch mask off the end of the flagpole. Attach a witch hat to the mask, then tie a dark colored trash bag tied behind it. Shred the trash bag to make the witch's robe flap in the wind.
